An ideal candidate possesses a broad base of experience in reliability testing or other engineering discipline in a medical device setting, and is equally at home in the test lab and providing technical leadership to our team as we develop standard practices of our organization. You will not abide “process red tape”, instead passionately seeking the most efficient way to build in quality. You will use the most advanced analytical techniques to analyze product data and make reliability predictions. But you will also coach, mentor, teach, and influence the engineering staff in general reliability principles, reliability analysis, protocol development, and design for reliability methods.

  • Plan and coordinate reliability test and analysis activities for both new products and the existing install base.
  • Handle projects of various product and subsystem types (Instrument, System, Software, Hardware, Mechanical, Vision, new products, product improvements, etc).
3) Failure Analysis
  • Lead and contribute to corrective and preventive action projects, perform in-depth root cause analysis, and create the necessary documentation.
  • Serve as a mentor for others in the company who also lead such efforts. Demonstrate good style in attacking the problem and documenting its resolution for our internal records and possibly for the FDA.
4) Educate Peers
  • Act as a consultant to other engineers. Provide training as needed for reliability concepts, protocol development, design of experiments, and the correct application of statistical techniques.

Qualifications:

Minimum Requirements:

  • At least a Bachelors Degree in Engineering or Applied Physics.
  • A minimum of 10 years experience (or 5 years with an advanced degree) in a combination of the following: Reliability engineering, quality engineering, product development of medical devices, software and systems development.

Preferred Requirements:
  • Advanced degree in Software Engineering/ME/EE/Applied Physics preferred.
  • Experience in Reliability / Serviceability of medical devices and capital equipment.
  • Experience following design control procedures for medical devices.
  • Nice to have CRE certification (Certified Reliability Engineer).
