As a Reliability and Projects Manager at the La Porte, TX site, you will have ownership for the overall reliability strategy for the site including Mechanical Integrity programs. The INVISTA La Porte site is a growing, world class Intermediates manufacturing facility producing chemicals and polymers for end uses including but not limited to Spandex Fibers, Polyurethane, Pharmaceuticals, and a wide variety of engineering plastics.

Essential Responsibilities
- Ensure Integration of Reliability efforts with site Key Risks and EHS efforts
- Ensure key EHS and reliability risks for the site are identified based on consequence of an event and that proactive strategies are in place to mitigate the risk (controls in place to minimize the probability of event).
- Lower EHS risks by effectively implementing reliability strategies (reduce failures, reduce number of startup and shutdowns, provide more predictable, consistent operation, etc.).
- Quantify and communicate total economic impact of reliability. Use measures to drive performance and evaluate progress.
- Ensure each production area has identified availability goals.
- Provide oversight to reliability metrics to raise awareness and drive culture across the site. Use Lost Opportunities (unplanned events), Availability and
- Utilization as key reliability value metrics that demonstrate reliability in financial terms.
- Identify key leading indicators to focus on
- Work with site leadership team to develop a culture where reliability risks are clearly identified and communicated and each employee understands the role that they play in mitigating the key risks.
- Ensure Integration of the INVISTA capital projects Work Process into the site project culture
- Quantify and communicate total economic impact of project execution. Use measures to drive performance and evaluate progress.
- Support Turnaround management program and the execution of projects within Turnarounds.
- Responsible for management of a large project or multiple projects in the range of $25M to $15MM to meet INVISTA Sponsors Objectives including cost and schedule
- Accountable for all phases of project development, planning, teaming and work execution utilizing internal as well as external resources
- Plan, direct and lead the work assignments for the functional engineers that are assigned to the specific project or group of projects
- Establishes and maintain the team's focus, aligning project strategy, execution approach and associated risk with business and operations key drivers
- Oversee project safety, quality and maintenance requirements while executing work in accordance with INVISTA policies, procedures, systems, and requirements
- Maintain active interface with management for progress, commitments and change management
- Ensure that INVISTA project best practices and tools are utilized
Qualifications:
EXPERIENCE & SKILLS REQUIRED:
- At least 5 years of project management across all project phases experience within a chemical or petrochemical facility
- At least 5 years reliability engineering experience with in chemical or petrochemical facility
- Experience managing large capital projects with a range up to15MM.
- Bachelor Degree or higher in Engineering
EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS PREFERRED:
- At least 10 years project related experience (with at least 3 years project manager experience as an employee of a chemical/petrochemical company)
- Project group leadership experience
- Experience with Environmental related projects
- Professional Engineers License

Description
The Principal Reliability Engineer develops the reliability requirements for both new products in development and existing product platforms within Hubbell Lighting; establishes reliability programs; and performs appropriate analyses and tasks to ensure that products meet all requirements. The Principal Reliability Engineer will support HLI’s commitment to high product quality that exceeds customer expectations. This role is responsible for analyzing preliminary engineering-design concepts for new and existing product in order to recommend design or test methods for attaining specified product operational reliability requirements. The Principal Reliability Engineer advises and confers with Brand design teams to determine/predict critical component and/or sub-assembly performance to ensure excellent reliability and extended operating life. In addition, this role develops and/or reviews critical reliability test plans/protocols to achieve system reliability and meet specific acceptance criteria. This individual analyzes failure data.
Essential Responsibilities
- Works under broad administrative instructions; and provides in-house consulting activities to advise and counsel personnel on a variety of complicated processes/procedures supported by detailed calculations and guided by cost effective decisions and recommendations.
- Work closely with R&D and/or Mfg Engineering to determine/predict critical electro-mechanical component/sub-assembly reliability and operating life.
- Develop/review reliability test plans/protocols to achieve system reliability and meet acceptance criteria.
- Plans, conducts, and directs engineering research and development projects of major significance which are very difficult and complex in nature and require the expert application of advanced engineering knowledge from several different fields; and resolves difficult root cause failure analysis to prevent future failures.
- Designs and develops new and unique engineering methods and procedures, special equipment, innovative test procedures, special analysis of failure techniques, and communicates these advanced concepts by way of detailed technical reports which are used in the supervision and education of lower level reliability engineers.
- Represents the company in outside discussions and technical forums while working with a wide latitude for un-reviewed action and decisions expected from a seasoned engineer.
- Test the reliability of critical components, sub-assemblies and products prior to production phases and implementation.
- Assess and determine acceleration factors (usage rate or stress factors) of critical assemblies.
- Determine the failure rate (or MTBF) of critical components that correlate with field failure experience.
- Monitor and analyze failure data and furnish reliability test reports; conduct failure investigation, root cause analysis and propose solutions.
- Support sustaining activities as they relate to ongoing reliability planning and testing.

Qualifications:
- MS/PhD Degree (Engineering, Statistics, Mathematics) or equivalent.
- 10+ years experience developing and leading reliability growth programs in support of new product development projects.

- Create, review, and oversee execution of reliability planning, testing, and analysis activities for New Product Introduction (NPI), Installed Base (IB) and VCP programs across the anesthesia business.

- Proven working knowledge of design techniques used for high assurance software-intensive, COTS IT-based systems. HW RMA experience will not be considered a substitute for SW RMA experience

Description
Senior level position in the Maintenance organization that provides direction and support for mechanical troubleshooting and maintenance activities (routine, non-routine, and preventative) for one or more process and/or support units associated with the continuing operations of a large chemical plant. This includes unit shutdowns with responsibility for safety performance, execution, and schedule adherence. Insures required data is being captured in SAP or other designated systems, driving Root Cause Analysis, establishing and communicating a Top 10 list, and drives the implementation of cost effective improvements through expense or capital projects as well as driving improvement of operating or maintenance disciplines. The engineer will actively participate in Capital projects to ensure reliable equipment is installed that can efficiently be maintained. Furthermore, this role monitors existing PM/PdM programs and monitors other historical trends or KPI's for early identification and resolution of reliability issues.
Essential Responsibilities
Maintenance:
- Responsible for maintaining mechanical facilities of 3 PP production and extrusion lines and providing technical support to the operations.
- Providing maintenance standards, programs, procedures & instructions to maintenance crews, and machinery operating instructions to the operations.
- Overseeing critical equipment repair process and provide technical support to craftsmen
- Responsible to submit maintenance procedures to maintenance crew
Reliability:
- Identifying gaps between the industry/corporate bench mark and the demonstrated machinery performance as a source of improvement efforts.
- Responsible for rotating equipment troubleshooting and failure analysis, identify the root causes and develop solution and work with project team to resolve findings accordingly.
- Responsible for acquisition and sharing of best practices from inside and outside the plant through Knowledge Management
Other Expectations:
- As a member of maintenance staff, will be on call every 5 weeks
- Networks with other engineers sharing technical expertise & best practices with other company sites
Qualifications:
Relevant experience working in petrochemicals or an equivalent industry:
- B.S. Degree in Mechanical Engineering, some advanced training in rotating equipment and problem solving studies is desirable, 7 yrs experience in petrochemical manufacturing, 5 years in polymer manufacturing preferred
- Outstanding troubleshooting/failure analysis and problem-solving skills

Description
The purpose of this position is to drive improvement of maintenance and reliability performance across manufacturing by serving as a Reliability subject matter expert for North America. Essential Responsibilities
- Leads maintenance and reliability assessments such as Maintenance and Reliability Model gap analysis, RCM studies, Wiebull Analysis, and SAP data analysis at manufacturing sites.
- Serves as a maintenance and reliability tool owner and subject matter expert for North America. Examples include Meridium, IHS, SAP etc.
- Maintains the Maintenance and Reliability Engineer Toolbox with relevant tools and data. Supports engineering and craft development to ensure that personnel have the right skills and tools to effectively and efficiently perform their role.

Qualifications:
Relevant experience working in petrochemicals or an equivalent industry:
- Minimum of 5 years of maintenance and/or reliability engineering experience in the refining, petrochemical or chemical process industries.
- Bachelor's degree in engineering. Preferably in Mechanical, Civil or Electrical.

Qualifications:
Relevant experience working in petrochemicals or an equivalent industry:
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or related degree.
- A minimum of 3 years stationary equipment experience working in the chemical, petrochemical or refining industries.
- Proven proficiency in stationary equipment fabrication standards (ASME), company engineering standards, inspection codes (API, NBIC), and recommended practices.

Title:Maintenance/Reliability Engineer
Description
The basic function of the Maintenance Engineer is to analyze and continuously improve plant equipment reliability and mechanical integrity to achieve the highest degree of equipment effectiveness at the lowest sustainable cost.
Essential Responsibilities
1. 100% compliance with the site Total Safety Process (TSP). Actively participate in TSP activities such as inspections, audits, APT submittals and near miss investigations. Support safety reviews (hazard reviews, ORI’s, PSSR’s, audits) as needed.
2. Direct and manage the site Mechanical Integrity program. This includes:
- Interface closely with mechanical integrity inspector(s) and maintenance supervisor to ensure that work priorities reflect equipment criticality and equipment condition
- Collaborate with operations and operations leadership to ensure that equipment inspections are conducted according to agreed-to schedules
- Analyze and record information from mechanical integrity inspections and analyses.
- Investigate fixed and rotating equipment failures, determine root cause, recommend and oversee appropriate solutions to eliminate / reduce failure
- Ensure that equipment work history is captured and updated
- Design and specify alterations and revisions to improve equipment reliability
- Own the site UltraPipe database. Collaborate with mechanical integrity inspector(s) to ensure that the data is maintained in “evergreen” status. Become and remain completely conversant with the Ultrapipe software tool, its functionality, and the contents of the database.
- Own the site Risk-Based Inspection table and collaborate with operations and engineering to ensure that it is kept up-to-date.
3. Drive the site Reliability program. This includes:
- Schedule and chair recurring reliability meetings
- Identify problematic equipment and develop solutions to correct issues
- Ensure action items are managed to closure
- Review equipment history, identify failure trends, and develop corrective actions to improve life cycle
- Record and review reliability KPIs [ie, mean time between failure (MTBF)]
- Troubleshoot equipment problems using pump and compressor curves, equipment specification sheets to ensure that equipment is operating as designed
- Review history to determine MTBF for critical and problematic equipment
4. Direct the site Preventive / Predictive maintenance program. This includes:
- Performing RcM, RbM and FMEA analyses on critical mechanical and rotating equipment.
- Ongoing assessment and development of Preventative / Predictive Maintenance programs for critical mechanical and rotating equipment.
5. Stay abreast of and evaluate new methodologies, work practices, equipment/machinery technology, etc. for application and use within the plant.
6. Implement maintenance-driven capital projects.
7. Assist in the planning and execution of plant maintenance outages
8. Provide technical support to field maintenance as required to resolve mechanical problems in the field.
9. Ensure that all maintenance work is performed in accordance with maintenance engineering standards and to the highest quality.
Qualifications:
B.S. Mechanical Engineering
Have experience with design codes: ASME Pressure Vessel Code (specifically Sec I and Sec VIII), PI 620 and 650 design codes (flat bottom tanks), ASME B31.1 and B31.3 piping codes.
Have experience with repair codes: NBIC (repair and re-rating of ASME pressure vessels), API 653 (repair of API flat bottom tanks).
5 – 10 years experience in the petrochemical industry

Essential Responsibilities
Objectives – Plant Maintenance Work Management
- Implement the GenOn work management processes including key elements of planning, scheduling, backlog management and operations / maintenance collaboration
- Work with the Planning Services group to provide routine maintenance wrench-time training, measurement and improvement initiative targeting 50% routine maintenance wrench-time performance. Follow-up with plants to assess shortfalls from this performance target.
- Implement backlog management practices that result in a financial and operations risk adjusted prioritization of work and long term forecast of backlog liability.
- Lead implementation of a national station planning and resource utilization standard that results in safe work performance, environmental excellence, productivity gains and maintenance cost reductions. Insures training for new or new in position station planners to achieve the planning standard.
- Responsible for developing and implementing key maintenance management reporting and measurement tools that provide transparency and direction around value levers that drive plant business outcomes.
Objectives – Proactive Plant Maintenance
- Leads national proactive maintenance program including key elements of preventative maintenance, condition based maintenance and predictive maintenance resulting in achieving fleet equipment performance and maintenance spend targets.
- Develop and implement a national predictive maintenance program including standardization on predictive technologies and development of required hard skills within stations. Insures employees and contractors employed for PdM data collection are qualified and trained for safe and accurate data collection and data entry into GenOn’s database. Pursues strategies to enhance efficiency in this process.
- Lead ongoing optimization of fleet-wide preventative maintenance program ensuring focus on critical equipment in order to achieve equipment performance and spend objectives. Pattern GenOn standard after the EPRI PM guide.
- Collaborate with Tech Services in implementing the GenOn condition assessment program including definition of critical equipment and integration of equipment condition assessments into the work management and budgeting processes.
- Responsible for implementation and integration of the fleet-wide Reliability Engineer / RPA program with station maintenance and reliability teams.
- Develop a condition-based 10-year maintenance planning practice that supports the annual budget process.
- On-going development and implementation of the Proactive Maintenance Data Gateway system in order to achieve real time equipment risk assessment capability and transparency to station by station equipment risk
- Drives fleet to a standard of performing Root Cause Analyses of equipment failure modes, whether or not the failure was predicted through the collection and assessment of PdM data.
Additional Objectives
- Responsible for development and deployment of Proactive Maintenance and Work Management training programs. Responsible for measuring technical and behavioral changes related to training offerings.
- Manage the department budget and work management and proactive maintenance process team including establishing program goals and employee development objectives.
- Develop and drive implementation of appropriate interfaces between backlog management, planning / scheduling, outage planning, condition assessment processes, supply chain, and budget decision making.

- Work closely with R&D and/or Mfg Engineering to determine/predict critical electro-mechanical component/sub-assembly reliability and operating life.
- Develop/review reliability test plans/protocols to achieve system reliability and meet acceptance criteria (company, GMP, GLP procedures as appropriate).
